The season is over, well no not quite, your final duty is to vote for your the second annual BUTT (Brussels United Theatre Technicians) awards to recognise the best anglophone amateur theatre of this season (1 September 2008 to 30 June 2009) in Brussels and Antwerp. In this, its centenary year, the ECC performed Diana of Dobson's (September), A Christmas Carol (December), Absurd Person Singular (March) and Delyria (June) as well as hosting Feats. 
Everyone named in a programme this season is entitled to vote (ONCE!) in each category. A full list of eligible voters is available here. The gala awards ceremony will be held at Jim McKenna's garden (weather permitting) in Sint Agatha Rode (approx. 10km from Brussels) on Saturday, 11 July 2009, where the nominations will be announced and the winners will receive one of the glorious "Buttie" awards (as pictured). Auditions (ECC): THE CHERRY ORCHARD 15, 17 & 21 June 2009
The English Comedy Club announces auditions for its production of the Chekhov classic, The Cherry Orchard, to be directed by Malinda Coleman, and to be performed December 8 – 12, 2009. Auditions will take place on Monday and Wednesday, June 15 and 17, at 7.30 p.m., and on Sunday June 21 at 5 p.m., at the Warehouse, 73 rue Waelhem, 1030 Schaerbeek. The Cherry Orchard will be a mainstage production, and has parts for five women, including a girl of 17, and nine men, plus possible non-speaking parts. Some preliminary rehearsals will take place during the summer, followed by regular rehearsals three times a week from mid-September.
